Game Day at CG: What to Order for the Watch Party

Game day food is its own food group, and after decades of fight nights and big games at the bar, we know the playbook by heart. Here it is.

The starters that start everything. Buffalo Wings with ranch, celery, and carrots are non-negotiable. CG Loaded Nachos feed a crowd and photograph well. The California Sampler covers every craving on one platter, wings, skins, zucchini, bruschetta, and mozzarella sticks, so nobody misses a play deciding.

The main event. Large pizzas are the workhorses: pepperoni for the traditionalists, BBQ Chicken for the top-seller loyalists, Meat Lovers for maximum coverage, and the Buffalo Ranch pizza when wing flavor needs to come in slice form. Burgers off the grill and Baby Back Ribs handle the individual orders.

The beverage program. Cold drafts, beer flights for the indecisive, and signature cocktails for whoever is celebrating early. Watching at the bar means every screen has the game and someone else does the dishes.

Hosting at home? The whole playbook travels. Order pickup or delivery, or go full commissioner with catering: the Build-Your-Own Burger Bar, Taco Bar, and appetizer platters turn a living room into a venue for 10 to 300 people.

UFC nights are their own tradition here, full card on the screens, full house at the bar, and the kitchen running hot until the main event ends. Check the events calendar on californiagrill.com for what we are showing next.

Whittier, the couch is fine. The bar is better. Either way, eat like it is game day, because it is.
