On Friday, February 20, 2026, the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 26th Annual Silver Shield Awards Banquet at Pacific Palms Resort, honoring the outstanding officers, staff and volunteers of the Whittier Police Department. California Grill was proud to be a sponsor, with a table in the room and a full-page tribute in the program.
One of the night's highlights was the department's Case of the Year, recognizing the detectives and officers whose investigation into a series of assaults led to convictions in 2025. It is the kind of work most of us never see, and it is exactly why a night like Silver Shield matters.

Our message this year was simple: Honoring the Families Behind the Badge. The service of Whittier's officers protects more than our streets. It protects our neighbors, our families and our future. And behind every uniform is a family that shares in that sacrifice.
As a locally owned restaurant serving Whittier since 1996, we have fed a lot of those officers and their families over the years. Being in the room to say thank you, in person, means a lot to our family.
